We wrote this to be readable, not to trick you. sovraSpace™ is a civic platform — we hold ourselves to the same transparency standards we demand from elected officials.

Who We Are

sovraSpace is a civic engagement platform that connects constituents with their representatives, bills, and local government activity. By using sovraSpace, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the platform.

Your Account

1Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old to use sovraSpace. This is a hard requirement, not a preference. If you are under 18, you cannot create an account — please come back when you're 18.

2Intended audience: sovraSpace is built for and directed at U.S. residents. The platform's content is U.S. federal and state government data — bills, court cases, executive orders, campaign finance, federal elections, and related civic activity. We do not target or market the platform to users outside the United States.

3Accuracy: You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account, including a truthful date of birth. Impersonating a real person, elected official, or organization is prohibited. Misrepresenting your age to bypass the eligibility requirement is grounds for immediate account termination.

4Security: You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You agree to notify us immediately at security@sovraos.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

5One account: You may only maintain one account. Creating multiple accounts to evade a ban or inflate engagement is grounds for permanent suspension.

What We Record at Signup

To document your acceptance and consent, we record the following at the moment you create your account:

1Terms acceptance: Date and version of the Terms you accepted (terms_accepted_at, terms_version).

2Privacy Policy acknowledgment: Date and version of the Privacy Policy you acknowledged.

3Civic-data sensitivity consent: Because sovraSpace is a civic platform, your activity reveals your political opinions and civic beliefs. Under U.S. and international privacy law, this is sensitive personal data and requires its own explicit, separate consent. Date and version of your consent are recorded as civic_consent_at and civic_consent_version. See the Civic-Data Sensitivity Disclosure for the full picture.

4Age confirmation: Your date of birth is recorded to confirm you meet the 18+ eligibility requirement.

You can withdraw your civic-data sensitivity consent at any time by deleting your account.

Your Content & Feedback

sovraSpace is designed for civic discourse. You retain ownership of everything you post, but you grant us a limited license to display and distribute it within the platform.

1Civic content: Posts about bills, elections, representatives, local issues, petitions, and community organizing are the heart of sovraSpace.

2Your license to us: By posting, you grant sovraSpace a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display your content within the platform. We will never sell your content to third parties.

3Your ownership: You own your content. You can delete it at any time. Deleted content is removed from public view immediately and purged from backups within 30 days.

4Fact-checking: If you make factual claims about legislation, spending, or votes, we strongly encourage you to link sources. Verifiable civic information is what makes this platform valuable.

5Feedback ownership: From time to time you may give us feedback, suggestions, ideas, or bug reports. By doing so, you grant Sovra OS LLC a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide, sublicensable license to use that feedback for any purpose — including building it into the platform — without owing you compensation, attribution, or anything else. We're not obligated to use your feedback or credit you if we do. This survives any deletion of your account.

What You Cannot Post

These are hard limits. Violations result in immediate removal and may result in account suspension.

1Harassment & threats: Targeted harassment, doxxing, threats of violence, or coordinated pile-ons against any individual.

2Misinformation: Deliberately false statements about election results, voting procedures, or fabricated quotes attributed to real officials.

3Hate speech: Content that dehumanizes people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or similar characteristics.

4Spam & manipulation: Automated posting, coordinated inauthentic behavior, purchasing followers, or using bots to artificially inflate engagement.

5Illegal content: Any content that violates applicable law, including non-consensual intimate imagery or content that facilitates illegal activity.

6Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): Any content depicting or facilitating the sexual exploitation of minors is removed immediately, the account is permanently banned, and the content is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A as required by federal law. There is no appeal for this category.

7Private information: Sharing another person's private information (address, phone, SSN, etc.) without their consent.

8Echo chamber gaming: Coordinated efforts to suppress civic viewpoints through mass-reporting, mass-blocking, mute-stacking, or other algorithmic manipulation tactics.

Moderation & Enforcement

We believe in transparent moderation. Here's how it works:

1Report system: Any user can report content they believe violates these terms. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team within 72 hours for severe violations.

2Actions we may take: Depending on severity: content removal, warning, temporary suspension (1–30 days), or permanent ban.

3Appeals: You may appeal any moderation action by emailing appeals@sovraos.com within 30 days. We will respond within 14 days.

4No shadow banning: We do not secretly suppress your content. If your account is restricted, you will be notified.

5Transparency: We publish aggregate moderation statistics quarterly so the community can hold us accountable.

Data Integrity & AI-Generated Content

sovraSpace uses AI to produce two kinds of content from official government sources (Congress.gov, GovInfo, CourtListener, Federal Register, OpenFEC): plain-English summaries of bills, court cases, and executive orders, and inferences about impact — for example, the "Who is affected" line on a bill and the "Local impact" paragraph on financial legislation. Summaries paraphrase what's in the source document. Inferences go beyond the text to predict who a policy touches; they are informed guesses, not facts extracted from the record. Both are helpful starting points, not authoritative interpretations.

1Not a substitute: AI-generated summaries are not a substitute for reading the original text. Always consult the official source for the definitive version of any bill, ruling, or executive order.

2Accuracy commitment: We actively work to improve the accuracy of AI summaries through grounded prompts, source validation, and continuous monitoring. However, no AI system is perfect — errors may occur.

3Report inaccuracies: If you spot an incorrect summary, wrong sponsor name, fabricated detail, or outdated information, use the Report button next to any AI summary. Your reports directly improve the platform for all users.

4Community accountability: We encourage every user to participate in keeping sovraSpace accurate. Fact-check summaries against official sources, report errors when you find them, and help us build a civic platform worthy of public trust.

5Transparency: AI-generated content is labeled as such. Official summaries from Congress.gov are marked with an OFFICIAL badge. We never present AI output as official government text.

6Inference is not fact: Inferred fields — including the "Who is affected" line on bills and the "Local impact" paragraph in the finance view — are AI predictions about who a policy touches or how it may affect a locality. They are not extracted from the source document and may be wrong, incomplete, or missing important context. Treat them as prompts for further research, not conclusions.

Content Discovery & Perspective Diversity

sovraSpace is built to strengthen civic discourse, not narrow it. We are committed to preventing echo chambers — spaces where users only encounter perspectives that reinforce their existing views.

Your Civic Lens

You control your perspective diversity through Your Civic Lens, a tiered content discovery setting available in your account settings:

1Explore (Wide Lens, default): Approximately 30-40% of your feed features content from outside your usual interests and viewpoints. Maximum civic exposure.

2Balanced (Steady Lens): Approximately 20-25% diverse content. Mostly aligned with your interests but regularly introduces new perspectives.

3Focused (Narrow Lens): Approximately 10-15% diverse content. Primarily your interests with a minimum baseline of alternative viewpoints. This is the floor — it cannot be reduced further.

Algorithm Principles

4Category-level diversity: Diversity operates at the topic and viewpoint category level, not at the individual user level.

5Blocking scope: Blocking a user removes that individual from your feed but does not remove their viewpoint category.

6No reaction suppression: No reaction type — including Joyful Fuckery, Clown Foolery, or Fuckery Upset — causes algorithmic suppression of any viewpoint.

7Ranking signals: Recency, district relevance, and civic action signals (linking bills, petitions, voting records) influence ranking.

8Engagement metrics: Raw engagement metrics do not determine content ranking.

Anti-Gaming Protections

9Mute limits: Users may mute specific civic topics but cannot mute more than 25% of all available topic categories.

10Diversity floor: The minimum diversity floor (Focused tier, 10-15%) cannot be reduced by any combination of blocking, muting, or settings adjustments.

11Coordinated suppression: Coordinated attempts to suppress viewpoints through mass-reporting or mass-blocking are treated as manipulation and subject to enforcement action.

12Report abuse: Reporting a post because you disagree with its viewpoint is not a valid report. Abuse of the reporting system may result in action against the reporter.

sovraSpace reserves the right to adjust perspective diversity percentages to maintain platform health and civic integrity. Any material changes will be communicated in advance.

Screen Time & Digital Wellness

sovraSpace enforces mandatory daily screen time limits to promote healthy civic engagement and combat internet addiction.

1Mandatory limits: Every account has daily time limits for Vox, Posts, and Bills sections. These limits cannot be disabled — only adjusted within a maximum of 5 hours per section.

2Default limits: All accounts default to 3 hours per section. Users may adjust this up to a maximum of 5 hours per section.

3Timeout enforcement: When you reach your daily limit for a section, access is paused until the next day. You will be redirected to other available sections or emergency resources.

4No exceptions: The 5-hour maximum per section is a hard limit that cannot be overridden by any user.

Verified Accounts

Verified badges are issued to elected officials, government employees, accredited journalists, and registered civic organizations. Verification is free and based on documentation. Apply at verify@sovraos.com.

Verified status does not imply sovraSpace endorses the views of a verified account. Verified accounts are held to the same content standards — and may be held to higher standards — as regular accounts.

Privacy

Your use of sovraSpace is governed by our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Civic-Data Sensitivity Disclosure. Each is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By accepting these Terms, you also accept those policies.

Intellectual Property

1Our platform: The sovraSpace platform, branding, and design are our intellectual property. You may not copy, scrape, or reproduce them without written permission.

2Public data: Government data displayed on sovraSpace (bills, voting records, spending data) is public domain. You are free to reference and share it.

3DMCA — copyright complaints: If you believe content on sovraSpace infringes your copyright, you may submit a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) to our designated agent at copyright@sovraos.com. Your notice must include the elements required by § 512(c)(3): identification of the copyrighted work, identification of the infringing material, your good-faith statement that the use is not authorized, your statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act, and your physical or electronic signature. We respond to valid notices within 14 days. If you believe your content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice under § 512(g). We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.

Disclaimers & Liability

sovraSpace is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are a civic tool, not a news publisher — user-generated content does not reflect our views.

1Not legal, financial, or professional advice: Nothing on sovraSpace constitutes legal, political, financial, tax, medical, or professional advice — including anything produced by AI. AI-generated summaries, "Who is affected" inferences on bills, and "Local impact" paragraphs on financial legislation are informational only; they are not authoritative interpretations of law, regulation, or fiscal policy, and they may be wrong. Consult a licensed professional before acting on any decision that could carry legal, financial, or health consequences.

2Limitation of liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, sovraSpace is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total cumulative liability to you for any and all claims relating to the platform is capped at the greater of (a) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100) or (b) the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim — which, for non-paying users, is zero. This cap does not apply to liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

3Third-party content: We display data from Congress.gov, GovInfo, CourtListener, the Federal Register, OpenFEC, USASpending.gov, and third-party political-analysis providers (Sabato's Crystal Ball ratings, Cook Political Report PVI). We are not responsible for the accuracy of that data — it is sourced directly from government APIs and third-party providers.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sovra OS LLC and its officers, members, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) content you post on the platform, (b) your violation of these Terms or our Community Guidelines, or (c) your violation of any third-party right, including intellectual property or privacy rights.

Machine-Authored Content

Some content on sovraSpace is authored by AI, not by human users or employees. There are two separate surfaces you should know about, and they work differently.

1sovraHeadlines rail: A cross-source aggregation of headlines from public RSS feeds published by news organizations. sovraSpace does not summarize, rewrite, or edit these headlines — each item links directly to the source publication for full reading. This surface performs no AI generation; it aggregates and links.

2sovraHeadlines short posts: A separate pipeline that generates short (≤500 character) event notices about federal bills reaching milestone stages (committee passage, floor votes, becoming law) and about newly filed federal court cases. Each short post is drafted by Anthropic's Claude model from platform-collected facts (bill IDs, case names, statuses drawn from Congress.gov and CourtListener) and is held in an admin review queue before it can be published. No short post reaches the feed without human sign-off.

3Source URLs are injected, not authored: For court cases and bills, the canonical source URL is written into the post by the platform from the government data source, not by the AI. The AI cites the source by name in the body ("— Source: CourtListener"); it does not originate URLs.

4These two surfaces are not the same thing: The RSS rail aggregates external headlines and links out. The short-posts pipeline generates original event notices that appear inline in the feed. Both carry the sovraHeadlines brand; both are distinct in behavior.

5All machine-authored content is labeled: AI-generated short posts carry an AI-generated label in the UI. Do not remove or obscure this label when sharing content externally.

sovraHeadlines AI Journalist Agent

sovraHeadlines is sovraSpace's automated civic-updates persona. Its editorial voice is bound by the standards below. See Machine-Authored Content above for how the underlying pipelines actually work.

1AI-generated content: All sovraHeadlines short posts are clearly labeled as AI-generated. sovraHeadlines is not a human journalist — it is an automated system operating under strict editorial rules.

2Ethical standards: sovraHeadlines is prompted to hold to factual accuracy, non-partisan stance, and source citations on every post. It does not editorialize, endorse candidates, or take political sides.

3Reporting inaccuracies: Users can report inaccuracies in any sovraHeadlines short post. Reports trigger admin review, corrections are published, and the feedback is used to tune the system prompts.

4Zero tolerance for misinformation: sovraHeadlines is prompted not to fabricate facts, quotes, or statistics. If an error occurs, it is corrected upon discovery.

5Content advisories: Content advisories may be applied to sovraHeadlines short posts covering sensitive topics — violence, discrimination, health crises, or other subjects that may warrant reader discretion.

Content Warnings & Advisories

sovraSpace automatically detects and labels sensitive content to help users make informed decisions about what they read.

1Automatic detection: The platform automatically detects sensitive content including violence, discrimination, health crises, substance abuse, and other topics that may require reader discretion.

2Content advisories: Content advisories are displayed before articles and posts covering sensitive subjects. These advisories describe the nature of the sensitive content so users can decide whether to proceed.

3Supplementary warnings: Content warnings are supplementary — they are not a substitute for personal discretion. Users are responsible for their own engagement with content on the platform.

4Reporting missing warnings: Users can report missing or inappropriate content warnings using the in-app report system. Reports are reviewed and warnings are added or adjusted as needed.

Content Sharing

sovraSpace allows users to share content externally to promote civic engagement beyond the platform.

1What you can share: Users can share posts, articles, bills, and sovraHeadlines articles externally via email, SMS, and social media using the built-in share functionality.

2No data transmission: When sharing, the shared link points back to sovraSpace. No user data is transmitted to third-party platforms as part of the sharing process.

3User responsibility: Users are responsible for the context in which they share content. Sharing content with misleading framing or altered context may violate these terms.

4Liability: sovraSpace is not liable for how shared content is interpreted, used, or redistributed by recipients or third-party platforms.

Identity Verification (Future Release)

sovraSpace plans to introduce mandatory identity verification at signup in a future release. Identity verification will include age verification confirming the 18+ requirement of these Terms, in addition to confirming you are a real human and the person you claim to be. The detailed approach — verified-to-platform with pseudonymous public profiles — is described in our public Identity Verification Policy. When this feature is deployed, this section will be updated and existing users will be required to complete verification within a transition window communicated by email and in-app notification.

Termination & Survival

1You can terminate at any time: Delete your account from your account settings or by emailing privacy@sovraos.com. Account deletion follows the procedure in our Privacy Policy (soft-delete within 24 hours, hard-delete of personal content within 30 days, audit-trail records de-identified within 30 days).

2We may terminate for cause: We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for breach of these Terms, the Community Guidelines, or any conduct that in good faith threatens the integrity of the platform or the safety of other users.

3What survives termination: The following sections remain in effect after termination, to the extent applicable to the period during which you used the platform: Your Content & Feedback (the license you granted, plus Feedback ownership), Intellectual Property, Disclaimers & Liability, Indemnification, Termination & Survival itself, and Governing Law.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as the platform evolves. If we make material changes, we will notify you via in-app notification and email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of sovraSpace after that date constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Informal resolution first. Before filing any formal claim, you agree to first contact us at legal@sovraos.com with the substance of your concern and to attempt to resolve the matter informally for at least 30 days.

Binding arbitration. Disputes that cannot be resolved informally will be resolved by binding arbitration under JAMS rules, with the exception of injunctive relief claims, which may be brought in any court of competent jurisdiction.

If you are an EU resident, you may have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
